1. Introduction to GST (with SEVIS I-20)

1) Mission Statement:

 Galilee School of Theology is a sacredness-of- life awareness seminary in the postmodern age.

It is committed to:

Equip women and men for continuing the work of Jesus' ministries for the churches and the world,

Serve as an intellectual center for the providing of sensible Christian message in the ever changing society,

Embody a public credibility within the multicultural communities.

2) Vision Statement

(1) We prefer beauty to truth and justice. The former is oriented toward the worldly and ecological peace, yet the latter are used to justify various violent power games.

(2) We believe that the wisdom explored in the life and teaching of Jesus the Galilean should be the key to the humane for of life.

(3) We believe that personally taking a part in Jesus' visioning movement should enhance one’s personal life, too.

(4) We know the wisdom in the Bible is still relevant to our society, yet how to understand the Bible is deadly important in theological training and Christian way of life.

(5) Questioning and discussing is the core of educational method, and so the story sharing (among professors and students) will be always of the essence of classes. And the constant dialogue between Christian Message and today's world-experiences should be the ever present foreground of classes.

(6) We start from the bottom and moves toward the effective values for the End-Users of the Gospels.

2. Programs (in Theology & E.S.L.)

GST Degree programs in Theology are open to women and men of all traditions.

GST programs include:

Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M., 2 years, for Lay Christian Leaders)

Master of Divinity (M.Div., 3 years, for Professional Ministers)

Doctor of Sacred Theology (S.T.D., 2 years +Dissertation)
