Then Jesus said, "Don't be afraid! Tell my followers to go to Galilee. They will see me there."(Mt 28:10)

*I am here to share with you the pains-healed and the values- revisioned in and through Jesus the Galilean.

*I personally believe:

 Jesus is the holy power.

He is the Word of Life incarnated for us even today.

*Through him I experienced: 

Beauty should be over truth and justice.

There are many worlds (stages) and many stage-centers; anybody can create one’s own life-world and enjoy a center-power in the vision of Jesus the Galilean.

*Through my life-long learning career I found:

             Modern paradigm of doing (academic) theology is over. It is fragmented internally and also disintegrated with the real people.

             Post-modern & matured- romantic paradigm is the alternative to it.

             Pluralism and the aesthetic dimension of human life are constant background and fore ground of my understanding of the time.

*Ministry of Jesus the Galilean has various forms; multi-vocational ministry and cultural mission are equal to the traditional single-ministry and ecclesial mission.

왜 또 신학교를 설립하였는가? (설립자의 변)

근대 신학하기 이제 끝나니, 포스트모던 정통신학하기(Post-modern way of doing theology in proper)가 출범하도다! 

당대 굴지의 세계 조직신학자들의 사사를 두루 받은 홍정수는 독일 경건주의 산실, 할레대학 설립(1694) 400년 후, 미국에 2차로 이주, 새롭게 신학하기를 실험ㆍ탐구해 오다가, 그 10 년 후, 2004년에 정식으로 학교를 설립하였다. 이름하여, “예수만나는 신학교” 갈릴리신학교(Galilee School of Theology)이다. 갈릴리신학교의 출현은 역사의 선택이다.

GST의 신학교육 이해는 다음과 같다.

1. 신학 교수진의 부단한 자기 통합을 전제로 교수진을 선택한다. 교수진은 하나같이 기존의 자기 전공의 담, 넘기를 시도한다. 따라서 여기서 배운 목회자는 스스로 온통(whole) 신학자임을 자부할 수 있다. 신앙인, 성직자는 사업가(성공자 vs 실패자)가 아니라, 하늘 분부를 받고 생명들을 돌보는 고귀한 소명자(충성 다하며 견디는 자 vs 영리한 중도 탈락자)이다.

2. ‘엔드유저 가치’에 집중(상아탑에서 내려오다)하는, 살아 있는 지혜 교육을 시행한다. 종교(=으뜸 가르침)는 순수과학(생물학)이 아니라 응용과학(의학)이기 때문이다.

3. 도시/합리성은 편리한 곳/기술이지만, 무한경쟁은 살생적 공간으로 뭇 생명들을 몰아간다(이용할 도구, 정복할 대상). 이에 반하여, 우리는 서로 긴밀히 통합된 적절한 소수자들의 공동체도 하나의 의미 단위(‘세계,’ ‘나라’) 구실을 능히 할 수 있다는 신념을 처음으로 표출한 낭만주의를 숙성시키고자 노력한다.

4. 종교, 특히 예수의 신앙이 사람들에게 줄 수 있는 가치는 <거룩한 삶>이요, 세상에 줄 수 있는 가치는 <아름다움>이다.

5. 예수는 성공을 위한 경쟁가도의 길을 달리지 않았다. 자신의 내면에 집중함으로써 얻는 마음 평화의 길을 걷지도 않았다. 버려진 사람들을 엮어, 동지를 만들고, 세상과 역사(가치의 틀)를 뒤엎으려는 역적모의를 시도하였다. 그는 사람의 행복이 안일, 평안함, 사람들의 시선을 받음, 소유의 넉넉함 등에 있다기보다는, 자기 시대와 더불어 치열하게 혹은 조용히 싸우면서, 고통당하는 생명들을 볼보는 양생 업에 종사는 것이 자신을 완성하는 인간의 길임을 믿고 있었다. 세상이 알고 있는 “예수 부활”이란 사건은 바로 역적모의와도 같은 그의 길이 하늘과 역사의 승인을 받았다는 동지들의 고백 사건이다.
